Meet Our Dream Team!

Phu Nguyen
Founder and Executive Director
Wassup! My name is Phu Nguyen. I was born in Hai Phong, Vietnam, the place where I found my love for science experiments. My first experiment was the Flying Teabag, and I remember almost burning myself because I didn't know how to use a lighter...safety, kids! Don't play with fire! Anyways, I came to the U.S. when I was 12, and my interest in science continues to develop to this day!
While attending the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, I founded Magic of Science to provide underserved children around the world with the resources to ignite their interest in STEM. Recently, I graduated with a major in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. Although I'm sad to have to leave the UNC chapter behind, it's far from over! I hope to go to medical school and start a new chapter there!
I promise to stay active in Magic of Science until all children around the world have the opportunity to experience the wonders that science has to offer! If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me!

Chief Operating Officer
I am attending the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and I am also majoring in Chemistry with a minor in Medical Anthropology. My goal in the future is to become a cardiothoracic surgeon operating in underserved communities.
When entering college, I was looking for an organization in which I could see the tangible impact being made, and one that aimed to serve underprivileged populations. With Magic of Science, I found just that! I hope to continue to spread the impact that Magic of Science has made for me and the community, and watch this organization serve underprivileged children around the world!

Mary Anna Stiles
Chief Information Officer
As a junior at UNC-Chapel Hill majoring in Biology, I am currently studying to become a pediatrician! I joined Magic of Science as I believe that there is nothing more life-changing than watching a child’s face light up in the presence of science.
I plan to take each of these beautiful moments when a child finds joy in science experiments and use them to help me better connect with children. I hope to learn from their wonder and curiosity, which allows me to view science from a different point of view. To have the opportunity to help in-need children find a sense of empowerment through science is truly one of a kind.
